Sweet November

Yeah, it's a shame.
I love SF so much,
but I only watched this movie very recently.
For some reason, I am not really into Keanu's movies.

Yes, it's a corny love story...
Sara (Charlize) lives with different men only for a month, because she is dying with a cancer - and partly because she is a hippie... a hippie who lives well in the Potrero Hill.
But she doesn't tell Nelson (Keanu) that she is dying, and they both fall in love. But Sara pushes Nelson away because she is dying.

The movie covers some of the famous places in the City - from Marina, Potrero Hill, Market Street, and even Clement st., Tenderloin (Old DMV site) and Port area... which include Some of the spots I passed by almost everyday. They had some views from the Treasure Island as well.

But yeah... if you ever lived in the city, you know that you won't go to Clement from Potrero Hill  for a walk with your neighbor from Potrero Hill next to the shitty-ass Java coffee shop. Those were hella unrealistic. I lived in Richmond and Panhandle area until I came to the East Bay, and I've been to Potrero Hill maybe only like twice?!

BTW, I can't believe that Java coffee shop on Clement (there are two, the south-side one is the real shitty one, and stinks of people smoking) has been around so long. Probably thanks to some old Asians who don't know what coffee should taste like. They make the worse coffee ever, just like cigarette pot water.

Well, back to the movie...
It was a really corny love story, but there were some moments in the movie that really caught me.
For those minutes, I was really into the movie, I didn't mind its old-fashion dialogues and plot.
Maybe it was Charlize's acting - it gotta be. It better be... Because Keanu can't act.

Nelson is a workaholic, who stays workaholic mainly to stay away from any emotional involvements. He has lost his parents and he did not open up to anyone.
He finally did to Sara, because Sara taught her that life is more than work or achievements.
But they still broke up.

Chaz (Jason Isaacs) tells Sarah: He will be hurt no matter what you do...
But Sara still chose to hurt when he was still around and when she was still alive.

There was the catharsis of the movie.
