I've got this Misia madness, which still going strong for days...
1) Title: キスして 抱きしめて
and these words are followed by「愛してる」って言って...
Nothing... just touching simple melody.
Not even impressive vocal range here, just simple soft melody.
I know lyrics are very feminine though.
"Kiss and hold me, and tell me you love me" is the first line.
But as much as I love heavy bass sound in rock songs and rap beats, I love soft melody as well.
2) Title: 忘れない日々 ("Unforgettable Days")
I am incredibly annoyed with the tuning of electronic drum beats in this song, like you can't imagine.
It's a typical late 90s and early 2000s Asian R&B beats, that got extra volume on the beats! I hate this arrangement!
But I am so amazed by Misia's vocal range here. Total opposite of the first song above.
So, I kept replaying this song for days despite of the beats.
And actually, she can sing this song live just as fine.
Her vocal in this song is somewhat surreal and very unreal. Maybe I am not used to Asian girls singing so good on live - big thanks to pathetic Korean singers who can't do any live. I don't know how all the bending her torso helps her to sing that well, hey, it's working more than fine for me.
3) Title: Everything
I still like the vocals in "忘れない日々" better, but this song is also very good and it has better tuned beats in the background. Apparently, this song was very popular in its days until now.
Those are my three favorites from her album "Love & Ballads". She doesn't expose her vocal range in every songs, which makes me appreciate it even more. I feel sorry I made a joke that she looks like a goldfish.
