Fact 1) I've had migraines and headaches since I was in the fifth grade.
Fact 2) When I was in Korea, I took 게보린... a pretty strong painkiller. No other painkillers worked.
Fact 3) In the Philippines and in the US until last year, I've been stuck with Acetaminophen (Extra Strength). Two pills (combined for 1,000 mg) would calm me down, and leave me sleepless.
Fact 4) Ibuprofen was used only when I had headaches with hangovers, since I didn't want to deal with the liver issues with acetaminophen after getting drunk.
Fact 5) With my back pain last year, I was advised to take either Naproxen or (at least 4 pills of) Ibuprofen. So I bought a lot of Ibuprofen at home.
Naturally, my migraine always comes once in a while, often bad enough to wake me up from the sleep.
I found myself out of Acetaminophen finally like last November or so, but I was too lazy to go out and buy another bottle, so I settled down with Ibuprofen lying around at home.
I didn't like it because it really didn't work on me unless I had to take at least 3, often 4 of them. But now, I think I am so used to Ibuprofen and it works just as fine. Come to think of it, 3 tablets have 600 mg and 4 tablets have 800 mg. No wonder 2 tablets of Ibuprofen or 1 tablet of Acetaminophen (Extra Strength) never worked on me.
I still take like several of them a week, I gave up on buying Advils and I just buy generic ones from Safeway or any other drug stores I happen to stop by. It's nice that it works with my headaches and with my occasional backache. More multifunctional than Acetaminophen. So, I keep one bottle at work, another in the living room, and another in the bedroom... Can't have enough of those little babies.
Hey, as long as it works and keeps me away from the headache or migraine, I will keep taking them in.
I've had them since I was a 5th grader, but they never go away if not getting worse.
