Radio

When I was a kid in Korea, I enjoyed listening to radios.
To be specific, when I was in 5th and 6th grades, I listened to radio in my room, while studying and after studying.
(For some reason, I started to show skills for multi-tasking since that time. Or, I can say, I started to develop some symptoms of ADD since that time.)
At that time, 이문세 was still the 별밤지기.. or was it 이봄(?)?
Anyway, I remember I listened to their shows. Maybe they were two separate shows. I don't care now.
I don't know what it was made me to listen to them - whether it was the songs or their gossip.

I stopped listening to radios when I moved to the Philippines.
For one, I didn't understand what the hell they were listening, and I hated Filipino songs.
At that time, MTV or at least MTV Asia was still heavy on playing music videos, and they were my remedy.

In the US, I began listening to radio only after I got my first car 2 years ago.
Even then I was reluctant.
One thing I noticed about these American radio stations is that they play songs again and again and again.
I could tell they only have a limited songs in their playlist and repeat them over and over again.
That annoyed me a lot, but there were some DJs that were funny who were often somewhat explicit - like T-man, example. No idea what happened to him now... One day, he was just gone.

Since then, I've landed on the Classics channel if I were ever on radios.
I am not a big fan of AM radios, so I don't listen to games much either.

But the other day, out of curiosity, I downloaded MBC radio app on my iPhone and have been listening since then.
It's kinda fun to listen to when I am driving.
In the morning, it's fun. I can listen to the evening programs in Korea when I am going to work, and they are more fun than the morning or afternoon programs. Sadly, I am stuck with some afternoon programs when I am driving back home.

I seriously think I decided to listen to radio when I am driving just to deplete AT&T network as much as possible and get my money's worth, but it's been turning out to be fun. The DJs I listen to in the morning are 박경림 (a new 별밤지기) and 신동 & 규리. These guys are often just as corny as Korean programs can be, but they are more funny than not.

I guess listening to the Korean radio also reminds me of old days.
I might continue to do this... but it's annoying how the stupid AT&T network gets crappy when I am driving in some neighborhood.

PS: 근데, 한국방송은 옛날 내 기억이랑 비교하면 정말 막말하는 듯... 뭐, 재밌기는 한데, 아직 적응 안됨.
