TOW Lost Youth
Yes, I might be too young to say that I lost my youth, but that's what I felt today... A feelingsprang out upon the purchase of the first comic book (aside from Archie, which I bought to start my english reading 10 years ago).
I bought X Men today...
It was so cheap, and I started to get interested in superhero stories only by the time I watched XMen 2 (Movie) and Spiderman (Movie)...
Well, the comics I read in Korea when I was a kid were not superheros... Goku dies in the dragonball, soccer genius lose in the end, etc etc... and I borrowed some issues of Spawn from my classmate during high school, but hell, my english was horrible that time...only appreciated the drawings...
Anyway, I went to a book store, they were sellingsome comics at very cheap price. I bought this copy "X Men: Onslaught" for only 25 pesos... that is around 45 cents in US... yes, I have to get used to make this conversion as soon as possible...
Anyway, had a little trouble following dialog boxes - they are not like Korean/ Japanese comics, but I followed...
Well, I felt like I missed a hell of time in the Philippines, where elementary to high school is only 10 years, and I had to attain almost the same level of knowledge in a wa~y shorter time than most of the countries (that are with goverment and education systems of course)...amazing I could learn as much as normal korean math majors in short time...
When I go out, people think I am at least 25 due to my behavior and outfit, and there is no other way for me to behave. I have friends promoted to team leaders in a year, doing consultant jobs, and teaching...
Yes, I could've tried hit on new students every year, telling I can be a free tutor in mathematics, but didn't... Then, I would be friends with them when they will call my "teaching" friends with all the terms that are only used by sycophants craving for grades...
It's not that I didn't play enough as a kid,
but I never went crazy like a kid...(huh?)
I don't wear jeans, never done that for 6 years...
Never had let myself on the wheels (skateboards, roller skates, etc)
Now, I am more comfortable with leather shoes,
and had only one sneaker for yearsand that one is years old, but still looks like new...
Yes, my bookcase and under the bed is full of books of mathematics, theology, philosophy, classic and contemporary literatures...
I stoppedreadingsilly fictionswhen I was grade 5...and yet I started to read Robert Jordan a few years ago...and am craving for a good starwars novel~!!
Also, it was very pleasing memory, but I talked to fred, richard, and marvin about mathematics, educations, ideologies, cultures for 6 hours yesterday! Nothing about showbiz or even simple gossip who did what...and guess what, it was more fun than talking about other stuffs!!!
So much is missed, and now, I am trying to be like a kid,
wearing cargo pants (although still with leather shoes)
bringing mp3 all the time... (weird, i listen from classics and jazz at home, but my mp3 is full of snoop dogg and jay z...)
and I even bought XMen! (and I plan to buy alien tomorrow...sigh)
I must be becoming a kid because got so old~
