Cinderella Man

A story based on James J. Braddock, a boxer who gave hope to many Americans during the Great Depression.

I have no idea with American history, so I am not going to talk about history much.

But this is a Ron Howard movie.
Felt a little long and dragging, but still with a heartwarming sensation.
I love Russel Crowe's acting, but I sometimes need to listen very carefully to know what he is speaking... Thankfully, I just add subtitles when watching him on DVD.
I can tell that he tried to slim down for this movie. He had chubby chin in other movies, but his chin looked very sharp here. I think I've seen better movies of Renee Zellweger, but she is one of the better actresses for sure.

Nice story, about the second chance of a life and Braddock is backed by a happy family.
But yeah, it felt long and I think I am getting too used to Ron Howard's movies, especially with Russell Crowe in it.
Maybe I watched "A Beautiful Mind" too many times.

I usually rent new release ones first,
since I've stopped to going to theaters unless it's something I really want, I'd wanna make up for the movies I missed using the Netflix.
But for some reason, this movie got my attention so I borrowed it without knowing what this movie is really about.

It turns out my instincts worked great on this. This was a great movie, very entertaining.
Of course, when both Al Pacino and Russell Crowe are in it, it can hardly go bad.
Both of them are superb actors, despite of Crowe's murmuring at times.

Based on the true story where Jeff Wigand had to reveal addiction secrets of tobacco industry, it was very good movie.
Well written, well edited, music appropriate (but not fascinating)... They didn't make me lose focus from the actors' acting and it worked.

The movie was very grasping. I also have other movies of very good ratings (like Star Trek, for example), but I don't regret that I watched this movie first. It was very entertaining but the movie quality was extremely high with those actors in it. I am probably a little bit biased because Bergman's house was in Berkeley Hills, 10-15 minutes from me.

Again, a great thriller.
