Licenses/ Recognitions

Many people...or some people I know question this...
and when I explain, they seldom do not know,
and I find it hard to explain...
So here it is.

I am trying to take exams for the following licenses/ recognitions:

1) ASA BV Courses (http://appraisers.org/courses/index.cfm?fuseaction=get_pov&id=B and http://appraisers.org/courses/index.cfm?fuseaction=get_adv&id=B)

2) SOA (http://www.soa.org/education/exam-req/)

3) CFA (http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/index.html)

4) FRM (http://www.garp.com/frmexam/)

I am scheduled to finish 4th and last basic ASA BV courses by February 2009.

I plan to take SOA-ASA level 2 exam first half of 2009, and more in the latter half of 2009.
CFA level 2 on June 2009 if I passed level 1. If not, I will take level 1 again on June 2009.

FRM should be on December 2009, unless something unexpected happens.

Except FRM, each recognition involves several exams over several years.

Why am I studying for them? Well, first of all... I don't want to feel rusty.
Some may be useful in my career, and some may not.
I think it's really fun dealing with risks in the finance,
as essential it is for the returns of the related assets - and some researchers in finance are lacking in obvious skills of econometrics and stochastic analysis. I pointed their mistakes in their working papers.

But I just don't want to feel rusty. I don't want to feel my brain aging and losing senses.
It's freaking tough to study everyday a couple of hours after work, but I just want to keep it rolling.

Well, since the exam season in 2008 is over, until my next exam in 2009,
I plan to take some online or offline business writing class. Boy, I suck in writing...-_-;;
