Perhaps, I am about to undergo one of the most awkward midautumn festival. Well, throughout my life in Korea, it was always a busy day with preparing for memorial services.
When I was living with my parents, well, it was just another holiday (it was holiday because my high school was a Chinese school).
Moreover, for last four years, I received mooncakes from Jingjing and other Chinese friends, whom I was closer than of other races, not because i discriminate, but mostly because I am more used to them from high school.
Also I spend the day of the midautumn festival with Jaeyoun by going to Korean restaurants and buying 송편...
My mother used to order many rice cakes during any festive day even if it was Davao and distributed them for free to visitors, but she started that only when we opened the Korean grocery store which happened while I was here, so I never really enjoyed it, and there are few visitors in the New Year because it's holidays in the Philippines as well...
Anyway, Iam with Taeyoon, and I should probably buy 송편 if I have time on tuesday and give it to Koreans Jesuits in Arrupe, although I don't know how many they are now. It's just that my class on Tuesday end by 9 pm, and that is not a good time to go Makati and buy 송편 or any kind of rice cake for that matter.
Sigh... Some holiday it will be. At least, I am not going to spend it with instant noodles like a year or two ago when I almost forget that it was the midautumn holiday...
