Some good things to be around (close) professors/ teachers:
1) you get to have nice recommendation letters, evenif you are trying for some studies not related to the courses you took under the professors.
2) you get to have foods a lot of times (for example, there was a birthday celebration in the faculty for three professors at once on last Friday, and, man, mylectures were cancelled so that we all could eat...)
[but there were too many leftovers, I was also "tasked" to finish all the food although I didn't hehe..]
3) jokes come and go... however corny sometimes they can get...
maybe it only happens here... but still, those are good things... and i know at some point in the future, i will reminisce and cherish those moments...
