This was this movie I was searching, not the Pianist.
I finally remembered that Holly Hunter was in the movie, watching one of her shows on TNT,
and borrowed it from Netflix 2 months ago,
and I finally finished it.
Holly Hunter plays a mute, who plays Piano.
She's gone to Australia with her daughter to marry Sam Neill.
Sam could not take care of her piano,
but Harvey Keitel takes the piano, and gives Hunter permission to play piano in his place while he can "look" at her.
Keitel falls in love with her but thinks she is there only to play piano. To fulfill his desire, as Hunter plays pinoa, he does not only listen. He sniffs at her clothes, touches her, and finally has sex with her.
Feeling guilty of making his love a whore, Keitel returns the piano.
But guess what, Hunter falls for Keitel, too.
(Some might say "awwwww", but it's most crooked thing about this woman).
Hunter realizes that she missed Keitel's presence as she plays piano, and realizes that she also fell for him.
Their affair is easily discovered by Neill, who gives Hunter another chance for Hunter.
As Keitel leaves Australia, Hunter intends to give a key off her piano, but Neill finds out and cuts of her finger in anger.
A well-deserved act. It could be cruel, but during those early times, I think something barbaric is a given.
She was seducing Neill only to get a chance to see Keitel again, when Neill was trying to make a living for the family he owns.
Neill finally lets Hunter go along with Keitel.
On the sea, Hunter demands to drop the piano into the water, and she joins the plunging piano with herself.
How selfish of her!
She was giving up everything she had just to make herself feel good.
She gave up new love she found, her daughter, she hurt her husband and even decided to hurt everyone else just because she was not in the mood.
But she again found herself scared to die, and finds herself out of the water.
She perhaps lived with Kietel and her daughter happily ever after,
but I was disturbed by the selfishness of this woman.
Being a mute is not an excuse to be whatever she wants to be and to hurt everyone else.
I was upset in watching this movie, perhaps because I could emphasize with Neill, but still it showed a treacherous and wicked side of something called love and how it's easily men can be dominated and victims of it.
4/5 for making me so empathetic with it.

A trash.
But it's got a couple of hot chicks and shows funny side of Chow Yun Fat.
I was abhorring the film so much even the Korean who played Yamcha didn't look so bad.
This was that bad.

I have been meaning to watch Star Trek, Terminator and Up ever since they got released.
But on Sunday, I took an 8-mile walk, and I didn't have enough time to watch all three movies to come back home in time for NBA Finals.
I was actually really tired and sleepy from the walk and another short sleep (even if the exam was done),
but I've decided to watch at least one movie, and of course that one movie would be Up.
I have undying love for animations.
I really wanted to watch Up in 3D because I have not watched any 3D movies except when I was a kind in Korea at 63 Building... and I remember pretty much nothing about that experience.
I went to AMC Bay Street 30 minutes before the 3D show only to find that tickets were sold out.
F*ck!
So, I had to watch lame regular version.
And I was soooo sleepy during the previews, I think I actually fell asleep.
I almost bit myself to wake up to watch "Partly Cloudy".
Anyhow, I have plenty of time now to watch movies.... I know I have to finish tons of DVDs I bought (I buy almost all DVDs at $5.99 or below if they had decent reviews) and 2-months-stuck Netflix movies first, but it's just a different experience to go to movies and be alone. I am still very awkward about it, but I don't know why I want to do it.
Anyway, about this movie...
It was very good. The first part passed fast - it was about the couple's lives ever since they met each other.
They got together due to their love for adventures but actual explorations never happened because they had to make living. But they never gave hope of going to the Paradise Falls sometime.
Without any babies, it was one of the strongest bonds that both had in their lives together.
Carl perhaps never thought that Ellie regarded their lives together was a very pleasant adventure that she had.
After Ellie's death, Carl realized that there is nothing to lose and decides to fly his house to the Paradise Falls - one thing Carl and Ellie always dreamed of.
During the trip, he finds that he won't be alone in his life after Ellie's death as he develops friendship with Russel.
It was a very pleasant movie, but it was not as impressive as Wall-E.
Perhaps the first part got a little too emotional and left me less energy to appreciate the excitements and fun parts of the adventures.
Nonetheless, a very good animation.
I am planning to watch in 3D soon... probably by myself again.
At this point, just nothing beats Wall-e... I am not sure if it was the movie or the memories embedded within it, but personally, nothing beats Wall-E.
